There are thousands of nonprofits in our state – each trying to make a difference on their own. We bring them together so that each member can benefit from our collective strength.
Connecticut Association of Nonprofits (CT Nonprofits) is the largest membership organization in the state dedicated exclusively to working with nonprofits in Connecticut. By connecting organizations with information, education, advocacy and collaboration, we help members focus their energy on the people and communities they serve.
The mission of CT Nonprofits is to support and strengthen nonprofit organizations in building and sustaining healthy communities in Connecticut. To achieve this mission for our growing base of nonprofit organizations, CT Nonprofits is committed to the following goals:
Serving our Members for More than 30 Years
We’ve come a long way since our founding in 1977 as Connecticut Association of Residential Facilities (CARF). Today, we encompass a diverse membership that covers all sectors of the nonprofit community.
In 1997, after outgrowing the CARF name, and in a nod to expanding our services to a wider range of organizations, we became Connecticut Association of Nonprofits. In 2007, we “canned the CAN” and introduced a new logo that better represents our membership and our mission: we work to serve, strengthen, and support Connecticut’s nonprofit community.
Today, CT Nonprofits offers members access to networking opportunities, up-to-date information, cost-saving group purchasing programs, education & training, legislative advocacy – including teaching advocacy skills to individual organizations – and publications targeting Connecticut’s nonprofit sector.
